West Meon Parish Council currently has three vacancies and would love to hear from local people who care about the community and want to help shape its future.

Parish councillors represent residents, contribute ideas and make decisions about local services, projects and issues affecting the parish of West Meon. The role is voluntary and involves attending monthly meetings, preparing for meetings and supporting local projects or working groups.

You do not need previous council experience or specialist qualifications. Training and support will be available.

Who can apply?

To be able to apply you must;

  • be aged 18 or over;
  • be a British citizen, an eligible Commonwealth citizen, a citizen of the Republic of Ireland, a qualifying EU citizen or an EU citizen with retained rights
  • meet a local connection requirement, such as being registered to vote in the parish, or having lived, worked or owned or occupied land in or near the parish for the required period.

Certain legal disqualifications also apply. Full eligibility will be checked as part of the application process.
